Pushing the frontier of tomorrow’s discoveries using next-generation tools.

It’s no secret, sample prep is labor-intensive, slow, and prone to unexpected errors such as sample loss, irreproducibility, and inconsistent yields.

This is why Inso Bio is developing high-precision automated solutions to reduce sample variability and provide a robust way to get you to your desired results.

Here’s how our platform works…

Simple, right? That’s the idea!

THE 5 PILLARS OF SAMPLE PREP

Sample prep is complex and challenging, but 5 key metrics define robust & high-performing methods. These criteria are:

  1. DNA Quality: Yielding the correct fragment sizes of DNA extracted during sample prep is a necessary prerequisite for any downstream analysis (long-read seq, short-read seq, optical mapping, etc.). Being able to tune and select the desired DNA size from small DNA fragments (sub 1-kilobase) all the way up to high molecular weight (HMW) fragments on a single platform is the future of sample prep. Of course, all of this is only helpful if sample purity is also maintained rather than sacrificed.

  2. DNA Recovery: Equally as important as DNA quality is total sample recovery. Losing sample, especially in low-input or precious-cell scenarios, is highly frustrating. Nobody likes to recollect important samples!

  3. Speed / Ease: Fast processing times and ease-of-use is essential. Reducing both hands-on time as well as total sample prep time is critical for streamlining biological analysis. Inso Bio is building automation platforms to provide a truly end-to-end solution where users can leave the platform unattended once the sample is loaded and being processed. All of this is done without sacrificing precision, which is possible through our proprietary microfluidic technology developed out of Cornell University.

  4. Throughput: As sequencing costs continue to drop, the demand for sequencing has never been higher. The ability to rapidly, efficiently, and reliably process large sample sets will be essential to making meaningful impacts in healthcare, biology, and beyond.

  5. Flexibility / Scalability: Finally, what is more elegant than having a system that performs equally well across a wide range of inputs? Whether it is just a few cells or many thousands, a scalable and flexible system opens the user to the freedom of knowing that their sample prep performance is not sacrificed or restricted by their chosen applications.
